Description

An original 1972 Japanese ink painting (suibokuga) and calligraphy dedication presented by Masaaki Hatsumi directly to American martial arts pioneer Charles Gruzanski. Following the passing of Toshitsugu Takamatsu on April 2, 1972, Hatsumi legally inherited the title of 34th Grandmaster of Togakure-ryū. Because Charles Gruzanski passed away later that same year, this artifact represents one of the earliest known historical records where Hatsumi utilized his “34th Generation Grandmaster” designation on an international dedication.
